IRCC Draw

The latest Express Entry draw, as held by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 763 candidates to apply for permanent residency through the Express Entry program system.

These invitations were made under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which is a framework that allows applicants to move to, live, and work in all Canadian provinces except Nunavut and Quebec.

The Provincial Nominee Program allows candidates to be nominated by their province of choice and submit the nomination as a supporting document in their application to permanent residency. This nomination can work to demonstrate an intention to live in the province and positively impacts the CRS score.

August 13 CRS Score Expectations for Provincial Nominee Program

The PNP is the ideal Express Entry pathway for those seeking permanent residency in a Canadian province with Canadian work experience while meeting the other requirements outlined by IRCC.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score trends based on this round show that:

  • The CRS score of the lowest ranking candidate in the August 13 round was 690 out of 1,200 points.
  • The last PNP draw on July 30, 2024 invited 964 candidates to apply for permanent residency. The number of those invited has since then lessened.
  • The CRS score expectations between the last PNP draw and the most recent draw have not changed by too large of a margin.
  • The July 30 draw saw the lowest-ranked candidate’s score being 686, versus the most recent Auguat 13 draw which featured a 690 low score.

How do PNPs work?

In a Provincial Nominee Program, provinces invite certain “streams” of individuals who they believe will stimulate the economy and contribute to provincial growth. Some groups who are targeted may include:

  • Students
  • Business people
  • Skilled workers
  • Semi-skilled workers

What PNPs are available for me to apply to?

Each province (except Nunavut and Quebec) has its own PNP system set up with different parameters for assessment. More information can be found
