A Temporary resident Visa (TRV) is an official document issued by a IRCC which is placed in your passport to show that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident. This official document is for the applicants who wanted to come to study, work or visit for temporary period and at the end of visa they need to go back to their home country.

Study Permit

To study at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada foreign national students required an official document which allows them to come to Canada for study which is called as study permit. This need to be applied before you travel to Canada.

Study permit is not a visa, on getting approval IRCC issue a travel document which is a type of temporary resident visa through which student can enter in Canada. This permit not only allows students to study in Canada for temporary period, but also indicates the education institution they are attending and course of study.

Work Permit

Foreign workers required Canadian work permits to work legally in Canada, it is an official document along with the stamping on legal travel document which gives permission to take a job in Canada. In some cases, there are exceptions where you can work without a work permit or job offer.

There are majorly 2 types of work permits:

In addition to these work permits, there are number of other work permits available where there is no requirement of job offer, including working holidays, post-graduate work permits and spousal open work permits.

Tourist/Visitor Visa

Tourist Visa or Visitor Visa required for foreign nationals who wanted to visit Canada for temporary period and show the intent to depart at the end of their stay. The only difference between the two is Tourist visa granted to applicants who wanted to come to Canada for the purpose of tourism and on the other hand Visitor Visa granted to applicants who wanted to visit their closed family, family, or friends.

The duration of visa can vary from 30 days to 10-year multiple entry depending on the validity of your travel document (passport), for a 10-year multiple entry the maximum stay in a stretch is up to 6 months.

Business Visa

Business Visa is also one of the types of Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) and can be granted for the short stay in Canada. Foreign business representatives or Entrepreneurs who wanted to visit Canada for the purpose of doing business or meet with potential business partners to develop their strategies or sign business related documents or agreements.

On Business Visa the person who holds it can only stay in Canada for a short period of time, usually less than 6 months but he/she is not entitled or allowed to work for any company in Canada.

Super Visa

Super Visa is for people who want their parents or grandparents to live with them in Canada, this visa is also part of the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), this visa has implemented specifically for the reason to stretch the stay for up to 2 years at a time in Canada with their children and grandchildren in regard of fulfilling the requirements.

While on Super visa they are not entitled or allowed to work or enroll in any part-time or full-time studies & during that they are also not entitled to take any Canadian health care benefits.
