All primary and secondary schools in Canada are designated learning institutions but if you plan to attend a post-secondary school, make sure it is part of DLI list.
What will happen if your institution loses its DLI status after getting the Study Permit?
International Student keep studying your program until the current permit expires, but after the expiry of study permit if student wanted to apply for further studies than the renewal of study permit must be allowed if enrolling at a designated learning institution.

If students are from China, India, Morocco, Pakistan, the Philippines, Senegal, or Vietnam than they can directly applying online through the Student Direct Stream.
Student Direct Stream (SDS):
Depending on the country an international student lives in they will get your permit faster through the SDS. As per CIC they try to process most SDS applications within 20 Calendar days depends on profile to profile.
How long can you stay in Canada with study permit?
A study permit is usually valid for the length of your study program, plus an extra 90 days. In these 90 days you need to leave Canada or apply to extend your stay.
Can you go back home while studying?
Yes, if you leave Canada during your studies, you may need to show proof you are enrolled in your school/college/university when you return to Canada.
