What is the RSWP?
Unlike the other provincial immigrate-to-work models, working permanently in Quebec requires an application to the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP).
The RSWP considers a range of factors during the application evaluation process, which include:
- Language proficiency
- Age
- Characteristics of your spouse
- Children as dependents
What is the Quebec invitation to apply criteria?
All applicants are judged on a range of defined factors by the province to assess whether they are eligible for the RSWP.
The criteria is grouped as follows:
- Human capital
- French knowledge
- Bilingualism in French and English
- Age
- Professional experience duration
- Education levels
- Market demands in Quebec and government goals
- Field and qualifications of work
- Professional experience in Quebec
- Job offer from employer in Quebec
- Different points are granted to those who receive a job offer inside the metropolitan Montreal and outside the same.
- Spouse of applicant
- If your spouse knows French, what their educational credentials are, and whether they have any certifications from Quebec.
- Other assorted criteria
- Your intended region of relocation in Quebec.
If you meet the conditions that Quebed has set out for each of these criteria, you will be assigned a score and compared to other applicants. You can gain an estimate of your possible score through the Quebec immigration authority’s self-assessment tool.
What are the next steps?
If you receive an invitation, you must proceed to apply for permanent selection.
The information that you provided during the expression of interest system will be used for the permanent selection process.
You must also, at this stage, pay the principal applicant fees of $895 and pay for any additional applicants.
