What are the Ontario PNP scope expectations in 2024?
The most recent stream invited was under the Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream. The breakdown was as follows:
- Those with a score of 54 and above based on the OINP scoring system were invited under the Masters Graduate stream.
- Those with a score of 50 and above based on the OINP scoring system were invited under the PhD Graduate stream.
- There were 1,556 invitation issues for Masters Graduates and 110 invitations issued for PhD graduates.
I have a Masters or PhD degree from an Ontario university. Am I eligible?
The applicant must go through a series of steps for these streams .
For the Masters stream:
- Register your interest on the OINP registration page.
- Submit your application within two years of obtaining your Masters degree.
- Receive an initiative to apply.
- Fulfilled the requirements to get a Masters degree, including:
- One year or more of full-time academic study;
- An eligible Ontario university grants the degree. Find out if your university is eligible here.
- Meet English or French requirements under the Canadian Language Benchmark at Level 7 or higher.
- Reside in Ontario legally for the past two years.
- Have the required funds as outlined by IRCC.
- Have an intention to live in Ontario and demonstrate it through showing connections with the province, such as future work, study, or volunteering.
- Live in Ontario or outside Canada at the time of applying.
For the PhD stream:
- Register your interest on the OINP registration page.
- Submit your application within two years of obtaining your PhD degree.
- Receive an initiative to apply.
- Fulfilled the requirements to get a Masters degree, including:
- Two years of program completed while legally living and studying in Ontario;

- Have an intention to live in Ontario and demonstrate it through showing connections with the province, such as future work, study, or volunteering.
