Express Entry

In an effort to improve the review process for applicants who believe there may be a mistake in how their application was handled or assessed, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has introduced a set of changes to its internal review process as of August 19, 2024.

As part of this effort, the old system to submit a request for an internal review has been replaced by a new system for individual applicants and the representatives of the applicants.
Delivery of internal review
The request for internal reviews and the change in delivery are to be submitted through the newly introduced Internal Review section in the OINP E-Filing Portal.

The request is not intended for employers. Only applicants who are directly applying and their representatives can submit a request.

Temporary measures until August 26, 2024

If you are filing for internal review before August 26, you may still follow the old process.

This process includes:

– Completing the Notice of Request for Internal Review form
– This form will request you to confirm whether:
– your internal review request is about a decision to refuse an application,
– To approve an application,
– To cancel the approval of an application,
– Or to impose an administrative penalty, or if you have been banned from making an application.
– You must then identify the errors made in your applications and set them out in a different document.
– The request for internal review must be sent to internalreview-revisioninterne@ontario.ca.

It is necessary to send the request for review within 30 calendar days of the refusal that you are contesting.

Your request for internal review must also be accompanied by a list of written reasons for why you are requesting an internal review.
