July 16 score expectations for Ontario Express Entry draw

The score expectations varied based on the stream.

The trends during this round were as follows:

  • For the international student stream, the occupations prioritized were health occupations and other priority occupations, including senior managers, accounting technicians and bookkeepers, and human resources managers. For a full list of targeted occupations, visit the OINP page.
  • The score expectation for the health occupations was 81 and above.
  • The score expectation for the other prioritized occupations was 77 and above.

What is the OINP scoring system?

The scoring system in the OINP uses the National Occupation Classification to assign points to Canadian work experience and the job offer in your application. Factors that contribute to your score include:

  • Employment/labour market factors
  • Education
  • Language
  • Region in Ontario that you wish to move to

A full summary of the scoring system is available here.

What streams exist under the OINP?

The program’s targeted draws make decisions about which profession to target based on factors such as:

  • Education: the extent, type, and place of study;
  • Language: English or French; regional immigration:
  • the intention to live outside the Greater Toronto Area
  • Competency and experience level;
  • earnings history; other elements pertinent to employment opportunities;
  • Job offer in Ontario;
  • Canadian work experience;
  • Strategic priorities; characteristics that would cater to the province’s or a region’s immediate labor market needs

What are invitations to apply under the OINP?

Invitations to apply (ITAs) are granted by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to qualified applicants every two weeks, with a few exceptions. The requirements of the OINP application inventory dictate the frequency, scope, and timing of the Ontario PNP next draw projection.

The most commercially active province in Canada, Ontario provides a multitude of options for foreigners wishing to work, study, and apply for permanent residence. One of the main factors influencing economic immigration to Canada is the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

What is a notification of interest?

 When a candidate receives a notification of interest, it means that:

  • They already have an Express Entry profile set up with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
  • The candidate has chosen Ontario or All Provinces and Territories while setting up their Express Entry Profile.
  • After the Express Entry profile is set up, the province searches the pool of Express Entry candidates to choose individuals with particular backgrounds to invite to apply for permanent residency.
  • These picked individuals receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) in an Express Entry draw if they meet the requirements of certain categories, which could be:
    • Skilled Trades,
    • French-speaking skilled worker
    • Health occupations.
