The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) offshoot in Claresholm, Alberta stretches within the 25 km boundary of Claresholm. This is the only community that has been approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in Alberta that is eligible for the RNIP scheme.

Claresholm is a well-equipped town, with facilities that range from water treatment facilities, wastewater management systems, and a host of recreational spaces.

Claresholm prides itself in its attention to:

– Air force training 

– Community-minded attitude 

– Local fairs 

Eligibility criteria

The applicant must first ensure that they meet all federal criteria for applying to the RNIP. This criteria includes: 

Qualifying work experience.

– Meeting education and language requirements.

– An intention (that you can demonstrate) to live in the community of choice.

– Meet the requirements set out by each community.

The candidate’s spouse’s ability to:

– Be proficient in English or French. 

– Work in Claresholm. 

– Contribute meaningfully to Claresholm through work experience, education, and social contributions. .

Job requirements

Although there used to be a specific job board with postings for the Claresholm RNIP, the job offer that you use in your application may be through any source now, including the Federal job bank or a third party job posting, as long as it is in the bounds of Claresholm.

Timeline

Your application must be submitted before the second Monday of each month. The Economic Development Committee (EDC) that will make a decision based on your application will meet on the third Monday of each month.
