The Provincial Nominee Program in Alberta is titled the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).
The program aims to fulfill the demands set out by Alberta’s growing economy. Nominees to the program will fill specific job shortages as highlighted by the province.
Although the AAIP evaluates your applications, the financial decisions based on your immigration file will be made by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Streams under the AAIP
Under the AAIP, there are streams for workers and entrepreneurs. Skilled foreign workers and business owners alike can use their work experience as part of an application to the province.
New Update in AAIP systems
Starting September 30, 2024, applicants will now be able to submit Express of Interest consideration applications on an ongoing basis instead of the current monthly deadlines system.
